Welcome to episode 4 of This Is Why! First up, Nate and I chat a bit about our team-up Halloween costume ideas and what Halloween is like here in Austin, TX, and then it’s on to comics chat! Austin Comic Con happened last weekend, and I had a blast. This year is the 25th Anniversary of Star Trek: the Next Generation, so the fine folks over at Wizard World got all of the main cast together to be peppered with NERD QUESTIONS. While I was there, I also had the chance to sit and talk with Matt Sturges, Nick Pitarra, the folks over at CCP Comics, and finally Matt Gordon and Martin Whitmore. Below you’ll find links for each creator I talked to. Check em out, you won’t be disappointed.

Picture cramped, tiny rooms full of bargain basement comics and that one guy, from that one direct-to-SyFy channel movie you’ve never seen. With this looming in my mind, I hesitantly purchased tickets, and kept my fingers crossed for the best. After going all 3 days, I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t San Diego by any means, but Austin Comic Con was a solid show, especially for it’s 1st year. While there were some amazing artists and celebrities that showed up, one of the real highlights for me was the amount of people dressed up in (really good) superhero costumes. So here, in no particular order, are some of my favorites:
